About

Dr. G. Sam Samdani is a chemical engineer and cross-disciplinary strategist whose career bridges deep technical expertise and large-scale technology adoption. He earned a BS in chemical engineering from Yale University and a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester, and began his career as an associate editor for Chemical Engineering at McGraw-Hill before joining McKinsey & Company in 1995.

At McKinsey, Samdani became a senior expert in the firm's Chemicals & Agriculture Practice, leading the specialty chemicals service line in the Americas and advising clients across advanced materials, life sciences, and specialty markets. His work increasingly centered on disruptive and emerging technologies, from nanostructured materials and 3D printing to machine learning and data-driven advanced analytics. He is also a co-author of the book Going Digital: Realizing the Dreams of a Digital Bangladesh for All, which explores country-level strategies for digital transformation in developing economies.

Today Samdani serves as Executive Director of QuantumCT, the Yale-UConn public-private partnership building a statewide corridor for quantum technologies and workforce development with support from the National Science Foundation, having earlier served as its interim CEO. He remains an external advisor to McKinsey and an active connector across the Yale and New Haven innovation community.
